The 30th annual Hawaii Wood Guild Show opens Saturday at Isaacs Art Center in Waimea.
An opening reception will be held 5 to 8 p.m. at the center, 65-1268 Kawaihae Road, with an awards ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Each year the guild awards first place and honorable mentions in joinery, sculpture, woodturning, and open categories, along with best of show and the artists’ choice awards.
The annual exhibition is the premiere event for fine woodworking on Hawaii Island. The best works by the most talented woodworkers are displayed for a month at the juried and judged exhibit at Isaacs Art Center. All entries are available for purchase.
Visitors are also asked to vote for their favorite piece and the guild will award the peoples’ choice award at the opening reception the following year.
The Isaacs Art Center is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The exhibit runs during normal business hours through Feb. 26.
